Composer, Pianist and Arranger, is a partner of big names in Brazilian music, such as Chico Buarque, Paulo César Pinheiro, Anja Blanc, Abel Silva, Paulinho da Viola and Elton Medeiros. His songs and arrangements are recorded in Paulinho da Viola discs, Nana Caymmi, Edu Lobo, Chico Buarque, Gal Costa, Milton Nascimento, Angela Maria, Zeca Pagodinho, among others. With partner Chico Buarque, wrote one of his biggest hits: “All Feeling”. The partnership with Anja Blanc debuted with “Response Time”, the opening theme Hilda Hurricane series and the title track of the album that gave Nana Caymmi the first gold record of his career; and “Suave Veneno”, the opening theme of the homonymous novel, nominated for a Latin Grammy 2000. Throughout his 45 year career, Christopher has received several awards, including eight “Sharp Awards”, including Best Music, with ” Response Time “, and best instrumental album,” successful dates “in partnership with the guitarist Marco Pereira. Partnerships between the discs are “Sunday in General” with the group “Node in Pingo water” and “Antonio Carlos Jobim – Music and Lyrics” with Leny Andrade. In film, debuted as a composer with the soundtrack of the movie “Maua, The Emperor and the King” and followed with “Zuzu Angel”, both of Sergio Resende. In the theater, created the score for the musical “Aunt Zulmira and We”, again in partnership with Anja Blanc. He also served as music director in “Elis: Brazil Star”. In 2008 Christopher Bastos launches its new CD “Enjoying Gafieira” winning project by Petrobras. Christopher also received, for his arrangements for Paulinho da Viola DVD, the TIM 2008 award for best arranger. In 2011 he received the Brazilian Music Award by Edu Lobo CD arrangements.
